At the beginning of the 20th century, a group of dropouts set out in search of paradise and found it on the Swiss mountain Monte Verità, where the feminist Ida Hofmann later founded a sanatorium. Shortly after its founding, Hannah Leitner, a mother of two, sets out for this sanatorium with her therapist Otto Gross, as she wants to escape both the corset of her bourgeois life and her husband, who sexually harasses her.
